Debi Bishop Named General Manager of Hilton Waikoloa Village

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii -- Debi Bishop has been named general manager of the 1,240-room Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii's Big Island. A veteran hospitality executive, Bishop brings more than 27 years of experience in both operations and sales and marketing.
Most recently, Bishop served as general manager and managing director of Sawgrass Golf Resort and Spa - A Marriott Resort in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Bishop also served as vice president of sales for Interstate Hotels & Resorts and worked with MeriStar Hotels & Resorts in several capacities including vice president of operations and director of operations, Atlanta.
Bishop's many accomplishments include being a recipient of a number of awards including the 1999 Human Resources/Bronze General Manager of the Year from MeriStar; 2005 Hotel of the Year, Finance Team of the Year and Catering Excellence Awards from Interstate; 2006 Most Engaged Associates and Catering Excellence Awards from Marriot International; 2007 Taking the Lead General Managers Award from Interstate.
Bishop is a 2005 graduate from the Cornell General Managers Program. She was on the board of directors of the St. Johns County Convention & Visitors Bureau and the St. Johns County Tourism Development Committee during her tenure at Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa.
A native of Lafayette, Indiana, Bishop has relocated to the Big Island with her husband, Tom Hollenbeck.
