Helium Adds Publishing and Online Industry Veterans to Board, Executive Team

ANDOVER, Mass. -- Helium (www.Helium.com), the online spot to learn what you need and share what you know, has added three industry veterans to its team. Peter Newton, who most recently served as Monster.com's senior vice president and GM of Monster's media alliances, has been named Helium's vice president of business development. Joining the Helium Board of Directors is former president of Monster, Steven Pogorzelski, and joining the Helium Board of Advisors is former executive vice president of the Boston Globe, Alfred S. Larkin Jr.

Peter Newton will focus on driving partnerships and strategic relationships with media companies, including newspapers, worldwide. Newton comes to Helium from Monster.com, where he acquired more than 200 partners during his tenure. As Monster's senior vice president/GM, he was responsible for growing the company's small- and medium-sized business (SMB) segment. Newton is a long-time newspaper industry veteran, who spent 18 years with The Boston Globe, where he served as Vice President of Advertising. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.
Joining Helium's Board of Directors is Steven Pogorzelski, formerly president of Monster.com. Pogorzelski spent over a decade in various executive roles at Monster where he was responsible for sales and customer development in more than 40 countries worldwide. Pogorzelski has 23 years of recruitment and advertising agency experience. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.
Alfred Larkin joins Helium's Board of Advisors. Larkin most recently served as executive vice president of the Boston Globe, having worked for the company since 1972. During his 36 year tenure at the Boston-based newspaper, Larkin served as vice president and assistant to the publisher in 1998, and has held a variety of positions including political reporter, Sunday Magazine editor, assistant managing editor for local news, and Sunday managing editor. Larkin attended Northeastern University and was a Nieman Fellow in Journalism at Harvard University.
