Web Compliance Solution Chosen to improve Accessibility for All
NASHUA, N.H. and BLACKSBURG, Va. -- HiSoftware Inc. (www.hisoftware.com), a leading provider of software, services and managed operation solutions that monitor and optimize Web content governance, quality and regulatory compliance, today announced that Virginia Tech (www.vt.edu) has selected HiSoftware's Compliance Sheriff to meet their Website quality management initiative for accessibility.
Bill Holbach, Director of Assistive Technologies and Research Applications at Virginia Tech stated, "Accessibility is no longer just about social responsibility, but key in providing a high quality web presence for our students, faculty, and staff and for the public that we serve. HiSoftware's Compliance Sheriff is another tool for website development at Virginia Tech that, when fully implemented, we expect to use for monitoring the quality of accessibility standards and providing a more functional and efficient web presence."
HiSoftware's Compliance Sheriff is an enterprise-based browser solution that is available as standard software or as an On-Demand / Hosted offering. It requires minimal user interaction and configuration based upon the latest world-wide accessibility guidelines (Section 508 and WCAG 1.0 / 2.0). Compliance Sheriff can be scheduled to crawl and verify content on a user-defined basis. In addition, it can email reports or hyperlinks to the location of reports of all files verified or only those that fail compliance according to the rules you choose. Compliance Sheriff provides an integrated digital dashboard that incorporates streamlined report viewers and preview modes so users can test their pages for optimal performance under variable end-user scenarios. The dashboard reporting system provides easy access to executive level summary reports so that IT managers can quickly obtain status reports within the application interface.
HiSoftware President and CEO, Kurt A. Mueffelmann, said, "We are pleased to be selected by Virginia Tech and add them to our growing list of educational customers using Compliance Sheriff. As educational websites rapidly grow in size and complexity, HiSoftware is able to provide institutions with the software and services that make available the ability to monitor, audit, test, and repair their web properties for overall web compliance and accessibility."
