Palmetto Truck Center Becomes First Dealership to Offer Autocar Commercial Trucks in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties
Business Wire, August 5, 2008
MIAMI -- Palmetto Truck Center expanded their commercial truck inventory to include Autocar commercial trucks, becoming the first dealership in Miami-Dade and Broward to offer the unique line, announced Bob Yglesias, president of Palmetto Truck Center. Palmetto Truck Center and Autocar signed a dealer agreement that will add Autocar's new chassis ACX, E3 Hybrid, and the WX/WXR to Palmetto's expanding line of commercial vehicles that includes Ford, Sterling, and recently added Azure Dynamics.
"We are thrilled to add Autocar vehicles to our commercial vehicle line up," remarked Yglesias. "We are continually looking to increase our product selection for our clients. This line specializes in refuse and waste disposal as well as vacuum trucks, airport refuelers and concrete mixers."
Autocar products have proven to be more productive, effective, and reliable than competitive vehicles. Autocar's refuse and waste disposal vehicles are up to 1,000 pounds lighter and are highly maneuverable for tight urban areas. They feature the strongest cabs in the industry and their hoses and electrical harnesses are routed for safety and convenient maintenance.
Palmetto Truck Center also will carry Autocar's E3 hybrid model in the coming months. The E3 hybrid is an innovative, hybrid-powered refuse truck that stores hydraulic energy from braking to supplement the power of the diesel engine, which provides dramatic fuel savings, an 80% improvement in brake life and significantly reduces emissions.
Autocar, LLC, headquartered in Hagerstown, Indiana, is a manufacturer and marketer of LCF Class 8 trucks for refuse and waste disposal. Autocar is the market leader for Low Cab Forward Refuse equipment and has steadily increasing annual sales and is gaining market share at a rapid rate. Autocar is a subsidiary of Highland Park, Illinois-based Grand Vehicle Works Holdings LLC (GVW). For more information visit www.autocartruck.com.
Palmetto Truck Center, Inc. is a second generation family-owned and operated truck dealership. Founded in 1966, Palmetto Truck Center is the largest Ford wholesale parts distributor in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties servicing businesses throughout the area and exporting internationally. While the dealership specializes in all size commercial truck sales, it has a sizeable retail business featuring sport utility vehicles, vans and light trucks.
