Three-Dimensional Rooftop Boards Generate Huge Buzz On Cabs Across Manhattan
NEW YORK -- Bi-coastal outdoor media company Show Media today announced a groundbreaking 3D taxicab advertising campaign for apparel giant Levi Strauss & Co. The effort, featuring three-dimensional displays of an unbuttoned pair of iconic Levi's([R]) 501[R] jeans, has been installed atop 400 taxicabs in New York City, and is believed to be the first of its kind anywhere for taxicab advertising.
The 3D creative concept for the Levi's([R]) brand was developed by Show Media and presented to Levi Strauss & Co. earlier this year. Since the displays' debut on December 5, Show Media has received an unprecedented public response.
"Never before have we seen this sort of excitement and reaction from a taxitop campaign. Our taxi drivers are asked constantly about the displays," said John Amato, president of Show Media. "Already we have three other clients lined up to produce similar executions for them. We are so pleased that we could make something like this happen for one of our clients during this crucial holiday season."
Show Media, founded by Amato and outdoor advertising pioneer Laurence Hallier, is a leader in the creative use of outdoor advertising. Hallier made backlit lexan taxitop displays popular nearly ten years ago, and recently returned to the industry with Amato to establish Show Media. The company has experienced strong and growing revenues since its debut through its taxicab and billboard properties in New York City and Los Angeles.
Levi Strauss & Co., the number one global jeans company, has chosen to match its new taxicab effort with billboards in New York City employing a similar 3D creative execution. The campaign will run through January 30, 2009.
