New CEO to Focus on Continued Growth of Country's Largest Healthcare Communications Network, Expanded Functionality, New Financial Solutions
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- NaviMedix, the national leader in real-time healthcare communications, today announced that Brad Waugh has been named CEO. Mr. Waugh succeeds Tim Hargarten, who stepped down after seven years of service. Under Mr. Hargarten's leadership, the company grew from a start up to its position as a market leader today. Formerly president and chief operating officer of NaviMedix, Mr. Waugh brings a strong background in both healthcare and financial services to his new role as president and CEO. In this role, he will focus on continuing to expand NaviMedix's 670,000 member national provider network, delivering innovative solutions to the payer community and enhancing the financial management capabilities of the company's NaviNet([R])technology platform.
"NaviMedix has become a major force in health information communications," said Brad Waugh, president and CEO of NaviMedix. "Going forward, we'll continue our unprecedented growth to reach our goal of making NaviNet the conduit through which all healthcare communications take place. In addition, NaviMedix's forthcoming financial solutions will be powerful examples of the way our intelligent platform combined with our vast provider network can positively impact the biggest challenges in healthcare today: quality and cost."
Mr. Waugh's career as a successful entrepreneur and executive includes experience in healthcare, financial services and information technology. Prior to joining NaviMedix, Mr. Waugh served as U.S. president and CEO of Wincor-Nixdorf, a $2.6 billion financial services firm focused on the ATM and POS marketplace. In 2000, Mr. Waugh founded Watch Hill Partners, Inc., a company focused on CRM optimization and mobility of Fortune 1000 companies. Watch Hill Partners was sold to MasterCard International in May 2004 as part of a new consulting unit, MasterCard Advisors.
Mr. Waugh currently serves on the boards of Antenna Software, Point Judith Capital and REVAL. He previously served on the boards of the RI Convention Center Authority, the Narragansett Bay Commission, ArcStream Solutions (sold to Keane) and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island. Mr. Waugh is the founder and past president of the RI Technology Council and a past board member of Boston University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Management.
