Powerful Tool Suite Enables Rapid Development of Custom Data Path Software for Wide Range of Communications Products Based on Wintegra Processors
AUSTIN, Texas -- Wintegra[R], Inc., a fabless semiconductor company enabling the next generation of access networks announced today that Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd has licensed their state-of-the-art, data path software (DPS) development suite, consisting of source code and development tools used for the WinPath family of processors. This DPS development environment, known as the Wintegra DPS Development Kit (WDDK), enables Huawei to have access to Wintegra's production quality software source code, as well as to do custom or proprietary software development for products based on Wintegra's WinPath family of access processors.
Wintegra's WDDK is a highly optimized Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for developing data path software used on all Wintegra's access processors. This IDE is used by Wintegra development engineers and is available for customers to do proprietary development as well.
Wintegra has developed over 50 standards-based protocols for WiMAX, 3G, LTE, IP, Ethernet, ATM, Frame Relay, legacy TDM support, as well as evolving protocols such as PWE3 (Pseudo-wire End to End Emulation) and Ethernet Bonding. However, some customers desire to add their own features for unique applications. The WDDK enables customers' software engineers and some third parties to use the same development environment utilized by Wintegra programmers. This package includes an optimizing compiler, symbolic debugger, language specific editor, code coverage tools as well as performance profiling.
"We are very pleased to have licensed our source code and tools to a market leader such as Huawei," said Mike Phillip, Senior VP and General Manager of Wireless Systems at Wintegra. "The depth and breadth of our software offering, combined with the flexibility of our tools and WinPath architecture, provides our customers with a significant time-to-market advantage."
Full on-line documentation and training is also provided as part of this package. The use of WDDK has enabled Wintegra to have one of the broadest communication protocol portfolios of any processor supplier.
