SEVEN's Complete Portfolio of System SEVEN 7.0 Applications to Launch with Telefonica Across Several Countries on Two Continents
BARCELONA, Spain -- SEVEN, the global market leader in push email software, will be launching multiple SEVEN applications with Telefonica later this year, including the latest rendition of SEVEN's mobile email product suite -- System SEVEN 7.0. The applications that are a part of SEVEN 7.0 include Out of Office(TM) and Consumer and Enterprise Editions, and will be launched with Telefonica in Spain and Latin America under the Mail Movistar service in Spain and Correo Movistar in Latin America. The Mail Movistar service, powered by System SEVEN 7.0, is being demonstrated at Telefonica's stand, 8B178 Hall 8, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, February 11-14, 2008.
System SEVEN 7.0 is the culmination of years of experience and research to make carrier-grade mobile email available to everyone. The application is compatible with all major platforms, including J2ME, BREW, Symbian, Palm and Microsoft Windows Mobile devices, and provides instant push email that is fully synchronized with consumers' and business users' personal and business email accounts. In addition, System SEVEN 7.0 provides advanced connectivity to today's major ISP providers including Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo!. Contact information from these three providers are fully synced with the mobile device - so users always have the latest information on their mobile phone and complete back-up on their email account.
"This latest rendition of our mobile email application provides users with unsurpassed flexibility in devices, platforms and ISPs," said Ross Bott, president and CEO of SEVEN. "System SEVEN 7.0 is our latest brainchild and the culmination of years working toward universal compatibility and we believe it to be the latest in attaining mass adoption of mobile email for Telefonica subscribers and users worldwide."
As part of System SEVEN 7.0, Telefonica will be launching SEVEN's Out of Office(TM) solution for current enterprise customers as well as for Telefonica's wireline customers using hosted Exchange. Out of Office(TM) uses Microsoft's Outlook Web Access interface to provide business users secure access to their Outlook email account from their mobile phone. SEVEN's Out of Office(TM) simplifies accessing workplace email by enabling users a secure email access on their mobile phone using SEVEN's signature simple interface without need to install or maintain any software behind the corporate firewall.
The launch will integrate SEVEN's Consumer Edition offering into Telefonica's Mail Movistar service in Spain and Correo Movistar service in Latin America. Consumer Edition is ideal for consumers and SMEs using ISP-based email programs and can access popular email providers such as Gmail, Hotmail, Windows Live, AOL and Yahoo!, among others. End-users also have the benefit of instant synchronization of email, contacts and calendar with the push email service, making it easy to stay in touch.
"Mobile email is at the core of data services today," said Javier Aramendia, Director Business Segment SME from Telefonica Espana. "As we expand our range of services to make data more accessible to consumers and business users alike, we know that mobile email will be a key part of those services. Email is an essential tool in business and personal communication, and by enabling our subscribers email access on their mobile phone, we are expanding their ability to communicate. Our partnership with SEVEN subscribers is a testament to our commitment to making data, and email, available to our subscribers on their mobile phone."
