New Offering Expands the SecureAuth Two-Factor Authentication Product Portfolio and Enables Enterprise Networks and Secured Web Sites to Authenticate Apple Devices with the Most Secure Method Available

IRVINE, Calif. -- MultiFactor Corporation, developer of SecureAuth[TM], the strongest tokenless, non-phishable, browser-based authentication solution for Web and enterprise networks, today announced its support for Apple Safari browsers. The addition of SecureAuth for Apple Safari expands the SecureAuth portfolio of products, which already includes support for Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and Vista operating systems and Internet Explorer 6 and 7, and Firefox browsers.

"Coupled with SecureAuth's existing support for the full line of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and now, Apple Safari browsers, SecureAuth is well-positioned for expansion into consumer-oriented applications, where both Apple and Microsoft support is a requirement," said Craig Lund, chief executive officer, MultiFactor Corporation.

Unlike existing certificate-based security products, SecureAuth makes use of native Apple libraries and uses the native Apple key store, allowing SecureAuth to overcome the proprietary API plug-ins that other security vendors require to access certificates. SecureAuth installs to the standard Internet plug-in folder and using the native Apple key store for the X.509 credentials, SecureAuth leverages the Apple KeyChain credential vault and enables Apple Safari and other X.509-utliziing technologies, such as SSL VPN network appliances, to reach and use the SecureAuth delivered credentials.

"By 2011, Apple will double its U.S. and Western Europe unit market share in Computers..." according to a key prediction by Gartner, Inc. "Apple is challenging its competitors with software integration that provides ease of use and flexibility; continuous and more frequent innovation in hardware and software; and an ecosystem that focuses on interoperability across multiple devices (such as iPod and iMac cross-selling)."
