CEA Launches Enhanced Certification Program for Wireless Retailers
Business Wire, Feb 12, 2008
ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA([R])) today announced a newly enhanced Wireless Certification Program designed to improve the customer experience at wireless retail stores. Available at www.CEknowhow.com, CEA's premiere training resource for consumer electronics sales associates, the new module trains users on the latest wireless technologies, as well as key product features, accessories, plans, subscriptions and any extras the consumer might need to complete their solution. A new interactive format appeals to multiple learning styles and is more conducive for delivery on the retail sales floor.
"With more choices than ever in wireless handsets, subscriptions and data services, shopping for a new device can be an overwhelming experience for the average consumer," said Kara Dickerson, CEA's Director of Strategic Relationships. "When retail sales professionals know and understand the features that they're selling, customer satisfaction increases and product returns are reduced. CEA's Wireless Certification Program provides a solid foundation of knowledge that will benefit all wireless retailers and their teams."
Since CEknowhow was launched in 2002 by CEA's Wireless Communications Division, the site has set the standard for online consumer electronics category-level training in areas such as Audio, Digital Television and GPS. More than 30,000 sales professionals have taken the Wireless Certification Program, and top retailers such as Best Buy, Ritz Camera and Staples rely on the program to keep employees updated and trained on the latest wireless technology.
"CEA's Wireless Certification Program is an excellent tool to keep our employees up-to-date on new technology and trends in the wireless industry," said Kevin Sinclair, president and CEO of Wireless Zone and member of CEA's Wireless Communications Division Board. "The knowledge gained from this program ensures our customers the best possible experience when visiting our stores."
