Indiana-Based Healthcare Organization to Implement Eclipsys Integrated Clinical and Revenue Cycle Solutions to Help Enhance Care Delivery and Patient Experience
ATLANTA -- Eclipsys Corporation([R]) (NASDAQ:ECLP), The Outcomes Company([R]), today announced that Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville, Indiana, will implement Eclipsys clinical and financial solutions in support of key care quality improvement and operational initiatives designed to improve clinical outcomes and financial performance.
Integrated Platform to Better Connect Care Providers
As the clinical information technology foundation to help improve the quality of its care delivery, Clark Memorial Hospital will implement Eclipsys' modules including Sunrise Acute Care([TM]), Sunrise Emergency Care([TM]), Sunrise Pharmacy([TM]), Sunrise PACS[TM], Knowledge-Based Charting([TM],) and Sunrise Surgery([TM]) (powered by Surgical Information Systems). Eclipsys' integrated platform will allow patient information to be easily shared across Clark Memorial Hospital's care venues, providing its clinicians with a single view of the full patient picture to make efficient, informed patient-care decisions.
Clark Memorial Hospital will also implement Eclipsys revenue cycle and access management solutions, Sunrise Patient Financials[TM], Sunrise Access Management[TM] and Sunrise Enterprise Scheduling[TM]. By having its clinical and financial solutions integrated and having the same patient record through the entire care process, Clark Memorial Hospital expects to deliver cleaner claims, reduced days in Accounts Receivable, increased cash flow and enhanced patient services.
"Clark Memorial Hospital is committed to providing our patients with the safest possible care. Selecting Eclipsys' integrated solution was an important step in our strategic plan and gives team members and physicians the tools for the continued delivery of excellent healthcare services," said Martin Padgett, president and chief executive officer, Clark Memorial Hospital. "Additionally, by integrating our clinical and financial workflows, we will improve our operations and more effectively meet the changing regulatory environment with better financial outcomes."
Sunrise Analytics to Support Improved Compliance with Quality Measures and Real-Time Outcomes Improvements
Clark Memorial Hospital also selected Sunrise Analytics[TM], Eclipsys healthcare business intelligence solution, to help the organization better analyze clinical and financial data. The goal is to manage pay-for-performance, quality reporting, and clinical and financial data integration more effectively.
Improved Medication Management through Integrated Workflows
Eclipsys Sunrise Medication Management integrates the workflows of physicians, pharmacists and nurses, enabling clinicians to share the same patient record and updates on order status. With the Joint Commission focus on medication reconciliation as a National Patient Safety Goal to reduce preventable medication errors, Eclipsys solutions extend reconciliation to the next logical level of patient safety. The integrated solution will allow Clark Memorial Hospital's caregivers to reconcile all orders related to the patient's care at all handoffs between caregivers and units, as well as at admission and discharge.
"Clark Memorial Hospital represents the growing number of healthcare organizations that see the benefit of having integrated clinical and revenue cycle workflows," said Jay Deady, Eclipsys executive vice president of Client Solutions. "We look forward to working with the team at Clark Memorial Hospital and utilizing our Outcomes Methodology to implement our solutions on time and on budget so the organization can quickly realize its care quality and financial improvement goals."
Added Deady, "This new contract represents our improved ability to win new enterprise deals in the community hospital market where both clinical and revenue cycle solutions required."
"A key factor in choosing Eclipsys was the opportunity to work with a single vendor for the majority of our major applications and remote hosting services," said Larry Reverman, director of Information Systems and Telecommunications. "Having Eclipsys manage this critical piece of our operations allows us to focus resources toward our front-line team members and physicians and continue to provide a high level of service."
