Richard "Dick" Galanis' financial system and acquisition integration expertise to support Serco growth
VIENNA, Va. -- Richard "Dick" Galanis, former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (AIS), has been named CFO of Serco North America. Galanis is responsible for overseeing the company's financial management systems and processes while supporting acquisition integration. He comes to Serco with more than 30 years of experience with large growth companies in the federal contracting sector.
As CFO of the General Dynamics AIS business unit, Galanis successfully integrated several key acquisitions, including the $1.5 billion Veridian acquisition in 2003, which more than doubled business unit revenue. He is also credited with integrating disparate accounting systems into one structure that streamlined operations.
Prior to the 1999 General Dynamics acquisition of GTE Government Systems, Galanis served as Director of Finance for the GTE Government Systems Electronic Systems division, where he strengthened the finance group by creating a customer-focused culture and improved collaboration within the business units.
"Dick adds an important, strategic dimension to our company as we seek to augment our growth and capabilities through acquisition and bring a new standard of excellence to the systems that support our business activity," said Ed Casey, Chairman and CEO of Serco Inc. "His experience in integrating acquisitions and developing systems and processes to support higher levels of business activity will prove very valuable as we continue to shape our company for the future."
Galanis is the latest senior executive to join the Serco North America leadership team, following the appointment of Senior Vice President and General Counsel Michelle DiCintio and Senior Vice President of Human Resources Louis Montgomery.
