San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants Changes Name to Kaplan Career Institute

SAN ANTONIO -- Kaplan Higher Education today announced that the San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants San Antonio campus is now known as Kaplan Career Institute. Highlights included remarks from Lydia McClaskey, chairman of the Chamber Champions representing The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce; Laura Bledsoe, president of Kaplan Career Institute's San Antonio campus; and Jeff Conlon, president of Kaplan Higher Education Campuses.
By changing its name to Kaplan Career Institute, the San Antonio-based school is formally recognized as being part of the Kaplan family. Kaplan, Inc. is a global provider of education services, and its name reflects a long-standing reputation for excellence.
"Today marks one of the most significant changes for us as we are the first Kaplan school in Texas to be renamed Kaplan Career Institute," said Bledsoe. "The Kaplan name brings our campus tremendous pride and national recognition."
"The San Antonio market is an important community for us, and we are committed to offering educational opportunities in some of the most in-demand employment fields in the state," said Conlon.
Kaplan Career Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). The campus currently offers six diploma programs. Areas of study of include medical assistant, dental assistant, medical office specialist, phlebotomy/EKG technician, electrical technician and pharmacy technician.
