Fairchild Semiconductor to Demonstrate Its Proven "Solutions Approach" for Energy Efficient Designs at IIC China 2008
Business Wire, Feb 28, 2008
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), the leading global supplier of high-performance products that drive energy-efficiency, will highlight its extensive power product portfolio and Global Power Resource(SM) design centers at the International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China), in Shenzhen and Shanghai, starting March 3. Through interactive displays, Fairchild will demonstrate its power-efficient solutions for motor, lighting, power supply and mobile applications.
"With the insatiable demand for electronics and the need to conform to power-efficiency regulations, the ability to conserve power -- whether in the chipset or through the implementation of topologies -- is critical," said Benjamin Tan, Fairchild's vice president, Sales, Asia Pacific. "IIC-China is an ideal forum for Fairchild to demonstrate its products, technologies and strong technical and design resources, which all serve to optimize customers' designs.
"Power and the efficient use of power are shaping our world today, and will for years to come. Energy conservation and environmental protection will remain driving factors. Semiconductor suppliers, such as Fairchild, have a unique opportunity to drive energy conservation with innovative solutions and architectures that improve power savings and increase energy-efficiency," concluded Tan.
Fairchild will showcase its highly integrated ballast ICs for CFL and LFL designs that overcome the space limitations of these applications, while optimizing performance. These ballast ICs combine PFC controllers, high-side gate drivers, 550V MOSFETs, a frequency control circuit and a shunt regulator into one ultra-compact package.
Also featured will be Fairchild's highly efficient, integrated Motion-SPM[TM] products for home appliances and industrial motors up to 3kW. Replacing as many as 22 discrete components, these modules are instrumental in increasing efficiency, reducing board space, decreasing manufacturing costs, speeding time-to-market and increasing system reliability for energy-efficient 3-phase motors.
The 13th Annual International IC-China Conference & Exhibition will be held in Shenzhen, March 3-4 and in Shanghai, March 10-11. Fairchild will exhibit in booth 2M11 in Shenzhen and booth 4E02 in Shanghai. For complete information on Fairchild's upcoming events, please visit: www.fairchildsemi.com/tradeshow.
