Modiv Shopper[TM] Chosen for 'Best Multi-Media Solution' Category
BOSTON -- Modiv Media Inc., a leader in retail interactive media delivery solutions, today announced its Modiv Shopper[TM], a self-service scan-and-bag shopping solution with targeted media, has been selected as a finalist in the "Best Multi-Media Solution" category for the 23rd Annual CODiE Awards, held by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA).
Established in 1986, the CODiE Awards celebrates outstanding achievement and vision within the software, digital information and educational technology industries. Having received more than 1,000 unique nominations this year, the award program has grown to be a benchmark in recognizing an impressive array of technology and business excellence and success. This year's finalists were selected by a 250-person panel of judges consisting of IT specialists, consultants, educators, trade press and industry experts.
Modiv Shopper is a next-generation portable shopping assistant powered by Motorola's MC17 mobile computer. Stop & Shop customers are the first to use this handheld, which is deployed at almost 100 store locations across New England. Known as "easySHOP" by Stop & Shop customers, the device allows shoppers to scan and bag their grocery items. It also delivers targeted offers and advertisements based on shopping and coupon redemption history, in-store location tracking and just-scanned items in aisles.
"Customers demand a personal, speedy and effortless shopping experience--from scanning and bagging their own items in the aisle to quickly paying at the front of the store," said Bob Wesley, president and CEO of Modiv Media. "Being chosen as a CODiE finalist confirms retailers' need to offer self-service solutions with targeted media and Modiv Media's commitment to bringing the innovation customers want and need to the overall shopping experience with Modiv Shopper."
Customers receive real-time coupons featuring actual consumer packaged good (CPG) images on Modiv Shopper's large color-screen display throughout their shopping trip. Modiv Shopper also makes a "ka-ching" sound to indicate a relevant offer has been delivered to the customer. Each offer is delivered to coincide with the customer's close proximity to the product. Shoppers also may view the contents of their cart--individual price displays, running total, savings and "extra savings" for Modiv Shopper users only--at any point during the shopping trip with the handheld's thumb-oriented key navigation pad.
Modiv Media and the other finalists will be brought before the SIIA members for a vote to determine the winners in each category. The 2008 CODiE Awards Gala will be held on May 20, 2008, at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. The CODiE Awards are partnered with eContent Magazine, Illinois Information Technology Association (ITA), Information Today, Inc, SellingToSchools.com and SoftwareCEO, Inc.
