PowerCold and Mingledorff's Sign Distribution Agreement
Business Wire, Jan 10, 2008
SAN ANTONIO -- PowerCold Corporation (Pink Sheets:PWCL) announced today that the Company signed a Distribution Agreement with Mingledorff's, Inc., Norcross, Georgia, to market and distribute PowerCold's unique HVAC products: WDEC Evaporative Condensers and WDFC Fluid Coolers. Mingledorff's is the largest independent distributor of Carrier products in the United States with 22 locations in Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama.
The WDFC Fluid Cooler product incorporates PowerCold's PlexCoil[R], a newly developed proprietary heat exchanger, which uses DuPont[TM] Caltrel[R] engineered polymer materials. The WDFC product line supports the Company's green building initiatives to reduce energy usage and water consumption.
Among PowerCold's many unique product benefits is the WDFC Fluid Cooler's ability to run wet or dry, which allows operators to drastically decrease annual water usage vs. traditional cooling towers while still maintaining evaporative energy savings when operating wet. Georgia is one of many states around the country faced with the challenge of conserving water. The hybrid nature of the WDFC unit provides an excellent solution.
W. Bruce Longino P.E., Mingledorff's Director of Engineering Services, commented, "We believe PowerCold's closed circuit evaporative fluid cooler featuring its unique polymer heat transfer coil and its wet or dry operating capabilities provides the best possible heat rejection solution for Vertical Packaged Unit and Water Source Heat Pump projects. Wet mode operation provides excellent system energy efficiencies, while dry mode operations, used during reduced load or cooler ambient temperatures, results in significant water savings. Additional benefits from the polymer coil are higher cycles of concentration for additional water savings and lightweight for roof installations. We are pleased to represent PowerCold as its products provide an excellent solution to the ongoing water problems in the Southeast."
PowerCold Corporation designs, develops and markets unique HVAC products and systems used in converting dry cooling systems to evaporative cooling systems. PowerCold's proprietary energy efficient products reduce power costs for air conditioning and refrigeration over air-cooled heat rejection.
