EqualLogic PS3800XV SAN Noted for Its Advanced Storage Management Capabilities, Speed and Virtualization Interoperability

NASHUA, N.H. -- EqualLogic([R]), Inc., the leading provider of high-performance iSCSI storage area network (SAN) solutions, was honored with IDG's InfoWorld 2008 Technology of the Year Award for "Best iSCSI SAN." The award recognizes the EqualLogic PS Series family of storage arrays for its performance, intuitive operation, and comprehensive enterprise feature set - as well as for providing the best storage platform for virtual infrastructures.

InfoWorld's 2008 Technology of the Year awards differentiate 45 products across nine general categories. Selected by InfoWorld Test Center editors and reviewers, the annual awards identify the best and most innovative products on the IT landscape. Winners are drawn from all of the products tested, which is upwards of 200 products a year, with the final selections made by InfoWorld's Test Center staff. According to InfoWorld's Technology of the Year article, "EqualLogic's PS3800XV iSCSI array represents the highly evolved state of iSCSI SAN arrays with panache. Fully featured and blazingly fast, this SAS-based array will easily find a home in infrastructures of any size..."

EqualLogic's PS Series SAN is a frequent favorite of InfoWorld's Test Center, receiving honors since the launch of its product family in 2003, when InfoWorld gave the company its first "Excellent" rating. EqualLogic also was awarded in 2005 by the InfoWorld Test Center for the highest test review rating, beating out six other vendors for its top performance and benefits to enterprise customers. EqualLogic was awarded again in 2006 with the InfoWorld Technology of the Year Award for "Best iSCSI SAN."

"InfoWorld's ongoing recognition of the EqualLogic PS Series SAN validates the real benefits we deliver to customers every day," said John Joseph, vice president of marketing for EqualLogic. "Ultimately EqualLogic SANs are tested and proven in thousands of customer implementations worldwide, but InfoWorld's consistently high ratings show that the PS Series can hold its own in a formal test environment against stringent testing criteria."

The award-winning PS3800XV is representative of EqualLogic's entire data-center-proven PS Series product line, which is the only native iSCSI SAN solution to offer a comprehensive and fully integrated standard feature set at no additional cost. Each PS Series array comes with fully redundant fault-tolerant hardware and includes full-featured automatic storage-management software in a self-contained chassis. Multiple arrays can be combined to form a scalable storage grid that expands in capacity as needed without disruption.
