Shoe Pavilion Accelerates Store Grand Openings with Cybera's Managed Wireless Broadband Services

Business Wire,  Jan 14, 2008

Cybera to Manage Network Rollout for Shoe Chain's Aggressive Growth Plans in 2008

NEW YORK -- Cybera, a leading MPLS-based managed service provider, today announced that Shoe Pavilion, Inc. is in the process of completing the rollout of a corporate wide area network now proactively managed by Cybera 24x7x365. To date, Cybera has implemented more than 100 Shoe Pavilion sites. In addition to its stores using business-class broadband connections, Shoe Pavilion's IT department has benefited from Cybera's wireless broadband to handle store grand openings, which depend on access to the company network, often on short notice. The SmartLink Wireless Broadband service has helped Shoe Pavilion when the wired broadband cannot be provisioned fast enough to meet grand opening deadlines.

"For new store grand openings in 2008, the Cybera Wireless Broadband solution has given us a convenient option to get a new store up and running quickly, making us more productive," said Edward Chan, vice president of information systems, Shoe Pavilion, Inc. "Some new stores are brand new construction, and we cannot afford to wait for data services to be installed before we can help customers. With Cybera, we can be up and running as fast as a week, which is part of how we have partnered for success."

Cybera's network is PCI-compliant (including locations with SmartLink Wireless Broadband) and highly reliable due to the inherently secure MPLS+ architecture of SmartNetwork.

Shoe Pavilion originally identified the need for a broadband network when it underwent a strategic application upgrade for its point of sale (POS) software, which its stores can use to process credit and debit card transactions and keep stores stocked with inventory.

"Cybera introduced the Wireless Broadband solution to Shoe Pavilion after a discussion about how we could help them rapidly prepare for new store grand openings," said Dan Glennon, senior vice president of marketing and strategy, Cybera. "Shoe Pavilion is a merchant that strategically enters markets to quickly gain an advantage over the competition. In order for Shoe Pavilion's new stores to open on time and ultimately to function, their applications have to be accessible quickly from the start. Cybera's managed rollout and dedicated project management services have helped Shoe Pavilion manage an aggressive growth plan while giving them peace of mind through our ongoing proactive management of the entire network."

Separately today, Cybera announced its new SmartLink Wireless Broadband Portfolio. Please see http://www.cybera.net/html/pr/01_14_2008_00.html for more details.
