Summer named Chief Financial Officer of Advance Publications Inc

NEW YORK -- Tom Summer has been named Chief Financial Officer of Advance Publications Inc., the privately-held company controlled by the Newhouse family, it was announced today by S.I. Newhouse Jr., Chairman, and Donald E. Newhouse, President.
Summer was also named President of the Advance Finance Group LLC. The Advance Finance Group, which was created in December, 2007, was formerly the corporate accounting group of Paul Scherer & Company LLP.
Summer, 54, was previously Executive Vice President and CFO of Constellation Brands, and Vice President and Treasurer of Cardinal Health Inc.
He will start his new job on January 22.
Advance Publications Inc. is a diversified media company, with interests in daily and weekly newspapers, national and international magazines through Conde Nast and Parade Publications, cable television systems through Bright House Networks, business journals through American City Business Journals, and Internet sites.
