Leading Swedish Broadband Provider - Bredbandsbolaget - Enriches Digital Life for Subscribers with Critical Path's Memova® Messaging

Business Wire, Jan 22, 2008

New Memova Messaging services enable Bredbandsbolaget subscribers to easily communicate and share multimedia content with online communities

SAN FRANCISCO -- Critical Path, Inc. (OTCBB:CPTH), a leading provider of messaging software and services, today announced that Telenor-owned Bredbandsbolaget, the second largest broadband provider in Sweden, has deployed its Memova[R] Messaging platform, delivering new email and content-sharing services for more than 446,000 subscribers. The new services allow subscribers to easily exchange email and share multimedia content, including photos, videos and music.

Consumers are increasingly looking for easier ways to communicate and share content with their social networks. The market for user-generated content and mobile communities will be worth US $13.1 billion by 2011, with photo-sharing and chat-based services as top revenue generators, according to Informa Telecoms and Media.

To address this growing demand, Bredbandsbolaget decided it needed a new platform that would enrich its subscribers' online experience. After reviewing several options, Bredbandsbolaget selected Critical Path's Memova Messaging platform because of its ability to provide feature-rich email that is seamlessly integrated with communities and multimedia content-sharing services.

"To retain loyal subscribers, we need to provide value-added services beyond email that give users a better digital life," says Marcus Nylen, CEO Bredbandsbolaget. "Thanks to Memova Messaging, Bredbandsbolaget subscribers never have to leave the Bredbandsbolaget portal to store and share multimedia content, and interact in every way with their Internet community."

Powered by the Memova Messaging platform, Bredbandsbolaget's email services are tightly integrated with services that allow subscribers to exchange photos, videos, music and other multimedia content with chosen groups of friends and family - easily controlling who has access to what content and allowing others to rate and comment on shared content. Subscribers can also create multimedia albums and photo feeds, and back up content stored on their PCs.

"Today's ISPs are fighting to ensure they keep the attention of their customers; they don't want subscribers to log in and immediately hop to outside online services," said Bruce Warren, Director, Product Marketing, Critical Path. "By providing the value-added content-sharing services consumers want through their own channel, service providers like Bredbandsbolaget can increase portal traffic and create a viral, growing community of loyal subscribers."

The new Memova Messaging services are currently available to all Bredbandsbolaget subscribers under the name of Box.
