Xacta IA Manager Supports Latest DIACAP Release, Facilitating Security Certification & Accreditation for DoD Programs

DoD Programs Can Deploy Xacta IA Manager to Set, Validate and Enforce Security Processes While Generating C&A Documentation in Compliance with DIACAP and Other Regulations

ASHBURN, Va. -- Xacta([R]) Corporation today announced that Xacta IA Manager[TM] fully supports the final version of the Defense Information Assurance Certification & Accreditation Process (DIACAP) signed on Nov. 28, 2007 by the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Networks and Information Integration.

The final version of DIACAP is similar to the interim DIACAP released in July 2006, though there are subtle changes throughout.

Xacta IA Manager has supported the latest Department of Defense (DoD) certification and accreditation (C&A) processes for more than seven years, originally supporting the Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP). When DITSCAP was replaced by the Interim DIACAP in July 2006, Xacta IA Manager supported the new compliance requirements. Today's announcement demonstrates Xacta's continued commitment to help DoD agencies comply with the latest requirements while reducing the amount of work required to do so.

Xacta IA Manager helps to streamline and automate the DIACAP C&A process. It helps organizations select the appropriate security controls, then it presents the associated validation procedures for the DoD 8500.2 controls so the program can evaluate the controls in line with DIACAP's guidance. Xacta IA Manager then assists in creating the DIACAP accreditation documentation, including:

* The system identification profile

* The DIACAP implementation plan

* The scorecard

* Plans of action and milestones

* And other supporting documentation needed for the accreditation process

"The final version of DIACAP includes a few changes to the System Identification Profile (SIP), DIACAP Implementation Plan (DIP) and scorecard compared to the interim version," said David Wilson, vice president of product management for Xacta Information Assurance Solutions. "Xacta IA Manager provides new templates that incorporate the changes for our customers. Xacta IA Manager generates DIACAP-compliant C&A documentation with no real impact on the customer. So whether a DoD program is upgrading from DITSCAP or from the Interim DIACAP, we can help it quickly align its C&A processes with the newly minted procedures."

Existing Xacta customers can download the latest project templates from the Xacta customer service center (https://customers.xacta.com).
