CompTIA Adds New Federal Lobbyist

WASHINGTON -- The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) has increased its Washington lobbying presence with the recent hiring of Trista Roehl. Ms. Roehl - who was a legislative assistant for three House members during her tenure on Capitol Hill - will work for the interests of CompTIA's membership surrounding four main subject areas: workforce, privacy, health IT and environmental issues. Roehl is the fifth lobbyist in CompTIA's Washington office, which is located on Capitol Hill.

Since August of 2003, Roehl worked as a legislative assistant for three prominent Republican Members of Congress. Her first stint as legislative assistant was for Representative Pat Toomey (R-PA), where her duties encompassed Social Security, education, labor, pensions, welfare and healthcare. When Toomey retired from Congress, Roehl moved on to Representative Chris Cox's (R-CA) office to work on such issues as taxes, budget, veterans affairs, and labor and pension matters. With Congressman Cox's movement to Chair of the SEC, Roehl then went to Representative John Shadegg's (R-AZ) office, where she supported the Congressman's work on such issues as the transition to digital television, network neutrality, labor, education, and foreign affairs.

Roehl received a BA in Government from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California.
