Mentor Graphics Veloce Emulator is one of the Hot 100 Products of 2007

Business Wire, Jan 23, 2008

WILSONVILLE, Ore. -- Mentor Graphics Corporation (NASDAQ:MENT), today announced that the Veloce[R] logic emulator was picked as one of the Hot 100 Products of 2007. The annual list of the year's 100 most significant products was compiled by the editors of EDN magazine, an online and print publication, serving design engineers and engineering managers worldwide. The list was published in the December 14, 2007 issue of the magazine.

In April 2007, Mentor introduced three new hardware-assisted verification platforms. The Veloce Solo, Trio and Quattro products are based on a new Emulation-on-Chip architecture enabling megahertz-class verification run-time speeds without compromising debug productivity and modeling accuracy for designs up to 128 million ASIC gates. This new verification family delivers the industry's fastest "target-less" and in-circuit emulation (ICE) capability that facilitates concurrent hardware-software validation and embedded system verification for key vertical market applications such as multimedia/graphics, computing, networking and wireless designs.

"Our editorial team covers new product introductions on a daily basis and we see a lot of worthy products," said EDN Editorial Director Maury Wright. "We look back once a year and choose the introductions that we believe will have the greatest significance to the design engineer and create the Hot 100 list."

"We at Mentor are constantly looking for innovative opportunities to benefit our customers and technology partners. We continue to focus our energy on innovations that directly benefit our customers and enhance our intellectual property," said Philippe Vallet, Director of R&D at Mentor Emulation Division.

"Nanometer designs require engineers to consider a scalable verification platform that can deliver the language compliance and debug productivity of traditional simulation, and the performance of hardware assisted verification. Veloce hits all of these key target requirements," said Sanjay Sawant, Director of Marketing at Mentor. "Veloce delivers fast design turns and high verification productivity, all in an easy-to-adopt platform."

Veloce is shipping in volume production worldwide and supports the Linux platforms. For additional product information visit the website at www.mentor.com/med.> About Mentor Graphics

How to Win at Office Politics

Like it or not, every workplace is a political environment. But operating effectively within it doesn’t have to mean sucking up, lying, or slinging dirt. In its purest form, office politics is simply about getting from here to there: securing a promotion, seeing an idea come to fruition, or gaining support to make an organizational change. Playing the game well is about defending your position, earning respect, exchanging favors, and keeping your sanity amid the chaos. To get started, you need to know what you really want from work, then orient your political moves toward those goals. It all starts with strong relationships and helping others; those people in return make up the support system that helps you realize your goals. Here’s how it’s done.
