Getronics' John P. Pironti to Discuss Emerging Trends in Protecting Information at Financial Industry Event in New York City
BILLERICA, Mass. -- Getronics, an international IT services and consulting firm, announced its Chief Information Risk Strategist, John P. Pironti, will deliver the keynote address speaking on "The Future of Information Security: What's Next?" at the Wall Street Technology Association's (WSTA) Threat Management and Information Security event to be held on January 30, 2008, at the Radisson Martinique in New York City.
"Information security has evolved from a technical specialty into a core business function. The people, processes, procedures, and technologies that are the core of an information infrastructure are changing and maturing at a rapid pace," said Pironti. "So too are the capabilities of the adversaries from whom you need to protect your information infrastructure. Throughout the morning, fellow experts and I will discuss how to continually bridge these gaps."
WSTA's Threat Management and Information Security seminar is the first of six seminars scheduled this year for technology professionals in the financial services industry. The seminar will explore the growing number of risks and threats to businesses and people and the importance of establishing a comprehensive risk management strategy to ensure customer trust, brand reputation, information security and compliance.
"We are pleased to have John Pironti present his perspective on the future of information security as our keynote speaker at this event," said Phyllis Lampell WSTA executive director. "Getronics and John are recognized and respected for their success in developing information risk management capabilities and embedding risk management practices in their outsourced services among financial organizations globally."
WSTA welcomes members of the press to attend its seminars as guests. To register, please send an email to Cheryl.Gardina@wsta.org.
