Adzilla Recognized for Game-Changing Strategies in Online Advertising
SAN FRANCISCO -- Adzilla, Inc., a provider of consumer-centric behavioral targeting, today announced the appointment of Toby Gabriner to CEO. Gabriner brings to Adzilla tremendous CEO, sales and marketing leadership experience from leading media and marketing services companies including [x 1] (formerly Poindexter Systems), Carat Fusion (formerly Carat Interactive, which is a subsidiary of Aegis, one of the largest marketing services companies in the world), and Freestyle Interactive. Adzilla also announced today that it has been chosen by AlwaysOn as one of the OnMedia 100 Winners. Adzilla was specially selected by the AlwaysOn editorial team and other industry experts spanning the globe, based on a set of five criteria: innovation, market potential, commercialization, stakeholder value, and media buzz.
"Toby has an impressive track record in building and growing top media and marketing services companies that are extremely relevant to Adzilla. Not only did he increase revenues by more than 50 - 100% annually at companies like [x 1] and Carat Interactive, but he also successfully introduced new and extremely fast growing business lines, built out an entirely new national sales force, and developed efficient processes for the global delivery of services to an impressive list of blue chip clients. These skills will be extremely valuable to Adzilla as we aggressively grow the company and continue to pursue this explosive behavioral targeting market," said John Farlinger, Founder and President of Adzilla.
"I'm thrilled to be joining Adzilla at this time because I truly believe the company has the momentum, customers and vision in place to aggressively transform the current online advertising landscape," said Gabriner. "With Adzilla's breakthrough technology, advertisers now have the ability to deliver customized, behaviorally targeted content and advertisements to extremely focused audiences--something that hasn't been possible until now. In addition, ISPs can now get paid to deliver the right content at the right time to the right audiences, while keeping the highest level of privacy standards at the forefront. I look forward to working with Adzilla's talented team, and taking the company to the next level."
Gabriner joins Adzilla from [x 1] where he served as CEO, and was instrumental in developing and driving the company vision, and increasing revenue to more than 100% from 2005 to 2007. Prior to [x 1], Gabriner served as President of Carat Fusion (formerly Carat Interactive), where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the interactive division of Carat in the U.S., including five offices, 275 employees, and a stable of blue chip clients including Pfizer, adidas, RadioShack, AOL, Kodak and Philips. During his tenure there, Toby played a significant role in orchestrating the merger with Carat Direct and re-branding the combined entities as Carat Fusion, thus creating an entity focused on the combined digital and direct sector. Prior to his role as President, Gabriner served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Carat Interactive. In this role, Toby assumed responsibility for all of the service lines and offices. Under his leadership, he expanded the company from 100 employees to more than 200, and grew revenues and profits over 60%. Earlier in his career, Gabriner served as both COO and President of Freestyle Interactive where he was responsible for all aspects of the business including finance, sales and marketing, client service and operations.
Gabriner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from Occidental College. He also holds an M.B.A. and a Master of Science degree in Management of Information Systems from Boston University's Graduate School of Management.
