With 28 Varieties, Pepperidge Farm has the Largest Number of Bakery Items Certified by the Association, More than Any Other Bread Manufacturer
NORWALK, Conn. -- Pepperidge Farm has passionately adopted the fight against heart disease and this winter will support the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women nationwide movement by donating $75,000 for research and education toward the prevention of heart disease in women. Pepperidge Farm is also launching two new whole grain breads this month: Whole Grain Double Fiber and 100% Natural Sprouted Wheat. With these new additions, Pepperidge Farm now offers 28 varieties of bread that are certified by the association with its heart-check mark.
"Pepperidge Farm is committed to supporting the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women movement in the fight against heart disease," said Ruthann Walsh, Bakery Business Director, Pepperidge Farm. "With 28 varieties of bakery products certified by the AHA, Pepperidge Farm knows the important role proper diet plays toward the overall prevention of heart disease. We're also thrilled to provide consumers with a variety of whole grain products that help them to meet USDA MyPyramid recommendations and can contribute to a healthy, balanced diet."
The two new whole grain breads from Pepperidge Farm are made with 100 percent whole wheat flour and contain zero grams trans fat. Each slice of Whole Grain Double Fiber contains 6 grams of fiber to help support digestive health and delivers nearly half of the recommended daily value of fiber in two slices. The 100% Natural Sprouted Wheat variety contains 3 grams of fiber per slice with no artificial color or flavors. The two new loaves are available at major supermarkets, grocery stores and mass merchandisers nationwide and have a suggested retail price of $3.49 a loaf.
