Fitch Affirms 6 Classes From First Union National Bank of North Carolina 1996-1

NEW YORK -- Fitch Ratings has affirmed First Union National Bank of North Carolina, series 1996-1, as follows:
--Class A at 'AAA';
--Class B-1 at 'AAA';
--Class B-2 at 'AAA';
--Class B-3 at 'AAA';
--Class B-4 at 'AAA';
--Class B-5 at 'AA'.
The affirmations on the above classes reflect deal performance consistent with expectations and affect approximately $947,000 of outstanding certificates. The deal has not experienced any losses since the date of issuance, and there are no loans in foreclosure or real estate owned (REO).
The mortgage pool, which has only 1% of the original collateral remaining, consists of prime quality, traditional, and hybrid fixed-rate mortgage loans secured by residential properties, which have original terms to maturity of 15 or 30 years. The transaction is seasoned 141 months.
