LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Imprivata([R]), Inc., the converged identity and access management appliance company, today announced that OhioHealth's Dublin Methodist Hospital, which officially opened its doors today, has implemented Imprivata's OneSign Single Sign-On (SSO) to provide secure on-line access to digital information. As an added security measure for patient protection, Dublin Methodist uses Imprivata's ProveID to meet requirements from the Ohio Board of Pharmacy by providing two-factor authentication for controlled drug prescription orders at the moment the transaction takes place.

"We applaud OhioHealth for crafting, and now realizing, its vision for a paperless hospital. Dublin Methodist clearly shows the healthcare community that it is possible to move to an all-digital environment without sacrificing security and safety," said Omar Hussain, president and CEO of Imprivata. "We are delighted that OneSign has played a role in this admirable undertaking. Reducing the number of passwords that hospital employees have to remember helps to make accessing paperless information far more convenient and secure. And integrating OneSign's ProveID authentication capability seamlessly into McKesson's Horizon Expert Orders for pharmaceutical dispensing meets the needs of positive ID as a critical component of enabling Dublin Methodist's paperless facility."
OhioHealth, a family of not-for-profit, faith-based hospitals and healthcare organizations, is using Imprivata's OneSign SSO to serve as the centerpiece of Dublin Methodist's paperless endeavors. OneSign provides physicians and staff easy and secure access to the applications and information necessary to provide the highest optimum patient care. In addition, OhioHealth is utilizing ProveID, an extension of the OneSign identity management platform, in conjunction with McKesson's Horizon Expert Orders and Horizon Emergency Care solutions to meet the state requirement for transactional strong authentication.
"This opening reflects hard work and innovation from our staff, management and technology partners," said Michael Krouse, chief information officer for OhioHealth. "While meeting the stipulations of the state and other regulating bodies has been an important marker for our progress, the end goal is always providing the best care in the safest environment. Imprivata has played an integral role in helping us meet that goal."
