-- Microsoft .NET 3.0 Retail Point-of-Sale Application Provides Stunning User Interface Capability and Unprecedented Application Flexibility --

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. -- Junction Solutions, a leading provider of business software solutions for mid-market retail and consumer goods industries, today announced the release of JunctionISS Version 4.2 for in-store retailers. JunctionISS has been built from the ground up on the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0, the most recent managed code programming model for Windows. Microsoft .NET 3.0 combines the power of the.NET 2.0 Framework with new technologies to provide an intuitive user experience, encapsulation of business processes for flexible reuse, and access to data anywhere using universal data standards.

JunctionISS gives retailers the ability to manage customer information, capture point-of-sale transactions, and also perform back-end operations such as purchase order creation, inventory transfers, sales reporting and staff management. It is available as a standalone solution, or integrated to other cross-channel solutions, including JunctionRES, which allows retailers to interact with other stores, other sales channels, and provide up-to-the minute inventory availability, pricing, and customer details at the point of sale. JunctionISS is not limited to running on a traditional POS device - retailers can also deploy it on self-service kiosk, mobile (handheld devices) and the Web.

"We have worked hard to develop solutions that are completely built on the Microsoft platform," said Brian Carpizo, President and CEO at Junction Solutions. "We're proud to offer one of the industry's first point-of-sale solutions built from the ground up on the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0, which will allow our customers to use Microsoft WPF to deliver a compelling user experience for in-store personnel and store shoppers as well as the ability to utilize Microsoft WF and Microsoft WCF to configure a customer focused application flow that normally would require code customizations."

"We're pleased that Junction Solutions has built its POS system on Microsoft's familiar, easy-to-use and widely supported platform," said Geoff Thomas, General Manager, U.S. Retail and Hospitality Group, Microsoft Corp. "Together, our goal is to provide integrated solutions that empower employees at retail firms to drive business success."

JunctionISS will be showcased as part of Junction Solutions' integrated cross-channel retail solution suite in booth 1563 at the NRF Conference in New York City, January 13 - 14.
