Time Warner Cable Names Gary Matz Senior Vice President, Government Relations

NEW YORK -- Time Warner Cable today announced that Gary Matz has been named Senior Vice President, Government Relations. He will report to Gail MacKinnon, Executive Vice President and Chief Government Relations Officer. Matz will be based in the company's Washington, D.C., public policy office and will oversee Time Warner Cable's state-level legislative and regulatory strategies.

"Gary has tremendous expertise managing the myriad legislative and regulatory issues we deal with daily at Time Warner Cable. I'm delighted that we will have the benefit of Gary's wealth of experience and knowledge in our public policy office," MacKinnon said.

Matz is currently Time Warner Cable's Group Vice President & Chief Counsel for Regulatory Affairs, based in the company's Stamford, Conn., corporate office. He works with Time Warner Cable operations nationwide in implementing local, state and federal regulatory requirements. Matz joined the company in 1988 as Director of Government Relations for the Central Region and later was promoted to Vice President. He transferred to the company's corporate staff in 1992 as Assistant General Counsel, was named Vice President in 2001 and was promoted to Group Vice President in 2007. Prior to joining Time Warner Cable, Matz practiced law in Minneapolis. He graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., and the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minn.
