SmithAmundsen Announces the Addition of Terry Fox

CHICAGO -- SmithAmundsen LLC is pleased to announce that Terry A. Fox has joined the firm's Chicago and St. Charles offices as a partner in our Insurance Services and Employment Practice Groups.

Mr. Fox concentrates his practice in tort and employment related litigation. His practice focus includes advising and protecting employer's rights in all areas of employment disputes, including Family Medical Leave Act, Title VII, Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and other disputes stemming from similar state and local statutes or ordinances. He has significant experience advocating for employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Rights and Illinois Human Rights Commission, Cook County Human Rights Commission, and in federal and state trial and appellate courts. In addition to employment related disputes, Mr. Fox handles controversies related to insurance coverage, policy drafting, and other risk transfer strategies.

Mr. Fox received a B.A. from Iowa State University in 1985, with honors and distinction, and a J.D. from the University of Iowa in 1990, with distinction. He is admitted to practice before all Illinois state courts and administrative agencies, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (Chicago and Rockford), the Northern District of Indiana, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and is a member of the trial bar.
