LaBarge Awarded $1.7 Million Contract from Sikorsky for BLACK HAWK Helicopter Program

ST. LOUIS -- LaBarge, Inc. (AMEX:LB) has been awarded a $1.7 million contract from Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. to continue to provide printed circuit card assemblies for various models of UH-60 BLACK HAWK helicopters. Sikorsky is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).
Designed and manufactured by Sikorsky, the BLACK HAWK helicopter is the U.S. Army's primary utility tactical transport helicopter, which is capable of a variety of missions from combat assault and peacekeeping to disaster relief and medical evacuation. The BLACK HAWK helicopter is equipped with advanced avionics and electronics systems and is part of the Army's long-term effort to modernize its medium-lift helicopter fleet. With more than 1,500 BLACK HAWK aircraft, the Army has the world's largest and most battle-tested BLACK HAWK fleet. Currently, BLACK HAWK helicopter derivatives serve 26 governments throughout the world.
The award extends the company's involvement on the program through January 2010. Production is taking place at LaBarge's Tulsa, Okla., facility.
