MCLEAN, Va. -- Booz Allen Hamilton today announced Vice President Natalie M. Givans has been named Vice Chairman of the Board of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) International.

Ms. Givans, who joined Booz Allen Hamilton in 1984, leads the firm's Department of Defense (DoD) Assurance and Resilience (A&R) capability team, comprising more than 750 professionals, with annual sales in excess of $120 million.

AFCEA International, established in 1946, provides the military, government, industry, and academia with an ethics-based forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, IT, intelligence, and global security. As vice chairman, Ms. Givans will work closely with Chairman Paul Cofoni, and President Kent Schneider, and continue on AFCEA's Educational Foundation and Diversity and Strategic Development Initiatives. Ms. Givans will also chair the Budget and Finance Committee of AFCEA International's Board of Directors.

"AFCEA International serves a critical hub for professional C4I communities, ensuring a valuable partnership among government, academia and industry," said Ms. Givans. "I'm looking forward to my work as vice chairman, particularly as it relates to increasing the pipeline of younger and more diverse members globally and to providing educational opportunities, including scholarships, in support of promising new C4I professionals."

Ms. Givans has been a member of AFCEA since 1986, active in AFCEA's NOVA chapter, as well as a member of AFCEA International's Board of Directors, a board member of AFCEA International's Building Services Committee, and a member of AFCEA's Educational Foundation. She has also been a mentor for the Young AFCEANs and has been active in both Diversity and Strategic Plan Development efforts.

Ms. Givans received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University. She remains active at MIT as a member of its Alumni Association Board of Directors, serving on the Finance Committee, and is the Vice President of the Class of 1984.
