21st Century Systems Inc.'s HiRSA Technology Selected for Jordan Border Security Program

Business Wire, July 15, 2008

OMAHA, Neb. -- 21st Century Systems, Inc. (21CSI) today announced that its state-of-the-art High Resolution Situational Awareness (HiRSA[TM]) software system will provide the surveillance and situational awareness information technology backbone for the end-to-end Jordan Border Security Program for which DRS Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:DRS) was recently selected. In May 2008, it was announced that DRS Technologies, Inc., was chosen by the U.S. Army's Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) for the initial phase of the Jordan Border Security Program.

"21CSI has a distinguished history of providing decision support software and systems for the U.S. Department of Defense," said Jeffrey D. Hicks, chairman and CEO of 21CSI. "The fact that DRS chose 21CSI's HiRSA technology to support the border security project in Jordan confirms our belief that this technology is a strong differentiator with multiple applications in the defense and commercial arenas."

For over ten years, 21CSI has pioneered design, development and fielding of agent-based decision support systems for time and mission-critical applications for the U.S. Department of Defense. The HiRSA technology will provide unique capabilities to help maintain the security of Jordan's border with Iraq.

HiRSA offers an integrated command and control framework for a number of agent-based decision support products. Originally deployed with the Marines in Fallujah, Iraq, in September 2004, HiRSA is an intelligent command and control program that provides anti-terrorism/force protection (ATFP) operators with a persistent surveillance capability and a user-defined operating picture. It automatically evaluates and distributes critical information, providing appropriate recommended courses of action and alerts to ATFP operators and sentries.

"The use of this software has already been proven in the field, protecting our military service people in Iraq by reducing manpower requirements, while still receiving the information needed and enhancing awareness while decreasing response time," continued Mr. Hicks. "This groundbreaking software will fill a similarly significant need on the world's critical borders by maintaining a high-level of security while receiving actionable knowledge and allowing limited personnel to respond to border issues in a timely and appropriate fashion."

21CSI develops decision support software to help operators manage complex, high-stress, rapidly changing environments through sound, computer-assisted data monitoring and decision making. Intelligent agents embedded in the systems enable the software to adapt, respond, and learn from individual users in a variety of different situations. Find us on the web at http://www.21CSI.com.
