Business Wire, July 17, 2008

NEW YORK -- Time Warner Cable today announced that Julie Laine has been promoted to Group Vice President, Regulatory. She will continue to report to Marc Lawrence-Apfelbaum, Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Laine will be responsible for legal and regulatory matters relating to Time Warner Cable's video, voice and data services. In this role, Julie will also work closely with Time Warner Cable's Washington, D.C. public policy office.

"Julie is extremely adept at navigating numerous complicated regulatory issues in some rather unsettled areas of law," Lawrence-Apfelbaum said. Laine was most recently Vice President & Chief Counsel, Telephony. She joined Time Warner Cable in 2002 from IP telephony company Net2Phone, Inc., where she was Associate General Counsel. She previously served as an Attorney Advisor in the Policy Division of the Federal Communications Commission's Common Carrier Bureau, where she worked on issues relating to local telephone competition, broadband deployment and telecommunications mergers. Before that, she practiced law in Washington, D.C. Laine began her law career in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and later served as an Adjunct Professor at the Seton Hall Law School. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her law degree from the College of William & Mary. She is a member of Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) and the Federal Communications Bar Association.
