MITRE Named to "Best Places to Work in IT" List for Fourth Consecutive Year

BEDFORD, Mass. & MCLEAN, Va. -- International Data Group's Computerworld has named The MITRE Corporation to its annual list of "Best Places to Work in IT" for the fourth year in a row. MITRE ranked fourth overall out of the 100 companies selected, placing the not-for-profit organization in the list's coveted top five spots. MITRE received additional recognition for training (ranked fourth) and retention (ranked tenth).

According to Computerworld's survey results, MITRE employees gave the company particularly high marks in such areas as training and skill development, the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, a challenging and enjoyable work environment, and flexible hours. The company was also commended for its retirement plan, which includes a phased retirement option.

The weekly IT publication's Best Places to Work list ranks the top work environments for technology professionals, based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training, and retention. This year, Computerworld surveyed more than 30,000 IT workers, whose responses factored heavily in determining the rankings. The list was published in the June 30 issue of Computerworld and online at Computerworld.com.
