Department of Homeland Security Implements RAPIDGate Program at Facilities in D.C. Area

RAPIDGate Program to Increase Security and Streamline Access for Thousands of Private Vendors
WASHINGTON -- Eid Passport, Inc., the leader in secure vendor access management, is currently under contract to implement its RAPIDGate([R]) Program at several Department of Homeland Security (DHS) facilities in the greater Washington, D.C. area.
The DHS is implementing the program to improve security and streamline facility access for the thousands of private vendors, suppliers and contractors who routinely provide services inside secure DHS facilities. Vendors benefit through time savings and efficient entrance to highly secure areas which alleviates waiting for ingress approval upon each visit.
"The RAPIDGate Program is a perfect complement to the existing DHS personal identification verification (PIV) program as not all vendors who must routinely access DHS facilities qualify," said Steve Larson, CEO of Eid Passport, Inc. "The RAPIDGate credential will enable vendors to access facilities in an efficient manner that will vastly improve worker productivity and generate a positive ROI for businesses. In addition, the DHS adds another crucial layer of security to facility access that will help thwart potential attacks on our nation's government."
Already used at dozens of military installations for the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy while serving tens of thousands of private vendors, the RAPIDGate Program is now available at select DHS facilities in the National Capital Region.
About the RAPIDGate Program
The RAPIDGate (an acronym meaning Registered And Previously ID'ed) Program provides a voluntary identity and access management solution for vendor, supplier, contractor and subcontractor personnel that enter secure facilities. It provides multiple layers of physical security checks including: validation of employment status, identity authentication, background screening, biometric verification and entry authorization verification. Access control personnel can process RAPIDGate Credential-holders in seconds, which improves gate efficiency, saves companies time and money and improves customer service. One RAPIDGate Credential may be used to request access to multiple participating installations for even greater convenience, efficiency, and return on investment. The RAPIDGate Program already serves thousands of companies and tens of thousands of RAPIDGate Credential-holders who enjoy streamlined access into Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security facilities across the continental U.S. and Hawaii. The RAPIDGate Program contains products and services subject to U.S. Patent No. 6,779,721.
