"Demystifying the Credit Crunch," a New White Paper and Glossary, is Now Available at PEC Web Site

WASHINGTON -- "Demystifying the Credit Crunch," a 20-page primer and glossary intended to offer public officials, journalists and others a better understanding of the issues, the terms and the trends that gave rise to the global credit crisis of the past year, is now available for download at the Private Equity Council web site at www.privateequitycouncil.org.

Jointly produced by the Private Equity Council and global management consulting firm Arthur D. Little, the report and glossary is an essential, "go-to" resource for anyone seeking a better understanding of the economic events whose effects continue to have a profound ripple effect on institutions and individuals throughout the world. The paper discusses the origins of the credit crunch and the roots of the subprime crisis, which can be traced back to the early 1990s. The primer also delves into the impact of the credit squeeze on the private equity industry.
