i.d.e.a.s. Upgrades Edit Systems, Lowers Prices

Business Wire,  July 30, 2008

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- In an unusual coincidence, i.d.e.a.s. announced the installation of two new edit systems and a media network while at the same time announcing new lower prices. An Avid Symphony Nitris DX, an Avid Media Composer Nitris DX, and a 16 TB Avid Unity Isis media network have been added to the i.d.e.a.s. Studio. In addition, i.d.e.a.s. also announced new lower pricing on some post production editing services.

"It was very important to us that we provide our clients with better technology but reduce our clients' cost for most of our editing work," John Lux, President of i.d.e.a.s. remarked. "We worked very hard to find an Avid package to complement our new Final Cut Pro system that would make all of our edit suites HD but would also make it economical for our clients. There will always be projects that, because of the scope, the cost will be more, but the majority of our clients will enjoy better quality at a lower cost beginning in August."

The Avid Symphony Nitris DX (http://www.avid.com/products/Symphony-Nitris-DX/index.asp) combines the Symphony finishing toolset with the new Avid Nitris DX hardware for the real-time power needed for high-throughput, high quality HD, and SD finishing. The Media Composer Nitris DX (http://www.avid.com/products/Media-Composer-Nitris-DX/index.asp) integrates the Media Composer toolset with the new Avid Nitris DX hardware for a remarkably responsive, high performance, multi-codec SD and HD editing solution. Finally, the 16 TB Avid Unity ISIS (http://www.avid.com/products/UnityIsis/index.asp) provides facility-wide uninterrupted access to media; powerful yet simple management tools; and an open architecture that supports both Avid and non-Avid clients in a wide range of video, graphic, and audio environments.

The three new Avid products represent the third major upgrade to the i.d.e.a.s. Studio in the last nine months. The previous additions have included a new HD captioning system, a Teranex Mini HD format converter, an Edirol multi-format and frame rate converter, an HDV deck, and a new Final Cut Pro edit suite.

About the i.d.e.a.s. Studio (www.ideasmediastudio.com): A widely respected and award winning post facility, the i.d.e.a.s. Studio features multiple non-linear HD edit suites, multiple mix to picture surround sound audio suites, including a Foley/ADR stage, multiple graphic design/visual effects suites and interactive workstations.
