Sensible Nutrition Wellness Program Challenges Sekisui Voltek Employees to Be Well
Business Wire, July 31, 2008
BOSTON -- Sensible Nutrition announced their client, Sekisui Voltek, launched a 12 week Worksite Wellness program for their employees this July. Sensible Nutrition, a Hingham MA based corporate wellness provider, created the program to meet the needs of the Sekisui Voltek employees. Sensible Nutrition's award winning programs have helped thousands of employees at over 100 companies for 10 years.
"We're excited to bring this important wellness program to our employees. We hope that by embracing this program our employees and their family's quality of life improves," explained Laurel Burrill, Director of Human Resources Planning at Sekisui Voltek. She continued, "With the rising cost of healthcare affecting everyone, we wanted to be aggressive and find ways to help our employees live healthier lives, while also combating rising healthcare costs. We value our employees; this program is a welcomed addition to our already employee focused benefit platform."
As a long term employer for the Merrimack Valley area, Sekisui Voltek continues to focus on both their employees and the surrounding communities. Located in Lawrence's Industrial Park for over 35 years, this manufacturer of polyolefin foams, will be focusing over the 12 week period on physical activity, weight management and cancer prevention. These three health issues stood out as important areas of concern from a recent employee health risk assessment.
"I am thrilled to be working with Sekisui Voltek to help promote wellness. Recent statistics report that 15% of the population incurs 85% of our healthcare costs," remarked Debra Wein, President of Sensible Nutrition. She continues, "However, we believe it is extremely important to remember to keep the healthy people healthy and help those high risk employees change their behaviors. That is why our program is different; we focus on all employees, not just high risk employees."
