Northwest Airlines Launches Fully Redesigned nwa.com

Business Wire, July 31, 2008

EAGAN, Minn. -- Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA) announced today the final phase of its redesign of nwa.com, bringing customers an even more intuitive website with personalized products and easy navigation.

The WorldPerks([R]), check-in and booking sections of the site were previously launched in the new design. Today's final launch caps an 18 month effort to build a design around customer needs and convenience.

"The redesign of nwa.com took into account customer focus groups, feedback and our web tracking tools and analysis," said Al Lenza, Northwest Airlines' vice president of e-commerce. "With our latest online enhancements, we are bringing our customers an easier and more personalized way to manage their travel."

The new site utilizes a wider page layout consistent with standard screen sizes, a simplified design with tabs to emphasize functions customers use most and easier navigation for novice users.

Northwest customers can still manage their reservations, WorldPerks accounts and travel itineraries, but the new site adds additional flight search capabilities on the home page and a personalized "My NWA Info" page so customers can see all of their Northwest information in one place.

Northwest maintains more than 10,000 pages on our worldwide sites serving customers in English, Japanese, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Korean, French and Spanish languages. Launching in 1996, nwa.com underwent its first major overhaul in 2003, becoming one of Northwest's primary customer communication tools.
