First Wind Announces Filing of Registration Statement

NEWTON, Mass. -- First Wind Holdings Inc., a leading independent North American wind energy company, today announced that it has filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (the "SEC") relating to the proposed initial public offering of its Class A common stock. An application will be made to list the Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Market under the symbol "WNDY." Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, Goldman, Sachs & Co. and JPMorgan will serve as joint lead book-running managers of this offering.

The registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the SEC, but has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold nor may offers to buy be accepted prior to the time the registration statement becomes effective.
