Rodale Names Colin Dickerman and Pam Krauss as VP Publishing Directors, Rodale Books

NEW YORK -- Rodale Inc. today announced the appointments of Colin Dickerman and Pam Krauss as VP Publishing Directors of Rodale Books. Dickerman will join Rodale effective September 2 and will be responsible for Rodale's narrative non-fiction list. Krauss will join Rodale effective August 25 and will oversee the illustrated list, including Rodale cookbooks and health, lifestyle, gardening, and crafts books.

Dickerman joins Rodale from Bloomsbury USA, where he was most recently Publisher in charge of managing editorial, publicity, marketing, rights, and the art and production of over 120 titles a year. Prior to this role, he was also the Editorial Director, where he helped to create and grow the Bloomsbury Adult list. During his tenure at Bloomsbury, he worked with award-winning and New York Times best-selling authors including Anthony Bourdain, Susanna Clarke, Ben Schott, Chelsea Handler, and David Leavitt, among others. Prior to Bloomsbury, he served as Senior Editor at Rob Weisbach Books, William Morrow & Co. Dickerman holds a B.A. in English from Amherst College.
Krauss joins Rodale from Clarkson Potter, where she spent over twenty years developing a high-profile list of illustrated and non-illustrated lifestyle titles in the categories of design, cooking, gardening, health, fashion, and reference. These have included winners of the IACP and James Beard Foundation Cookbook awards as well as numerous New York Times bestsellers, including Alice Waters, Ina Garten, Giada De Laurentiis and Rachael Ray's 365: No Repeats, which spent more than twenty weeks at #1 on the New York Times Advice and How-To list. Krauss holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
Andrea Au Levitt Named Projects Director, Prevention Books; Courtney Conroy Appointed Editor, Rodale Books, Overseeing Primarily Men's Health Branded Books
Andrea Au Levitt has been named Projects Director, Prevention Books effective August 4. In this capacity, she will develop, produce, and publish branded books, working closely with the team at Prevention to help coordinate efforts for the development of titles and content across divisions and sales channels. Prior to joining Rodale, Au Levitt was the Editorial Director and Managing Editor at Hatherleigh Press, an affiliate of Random House. There, she managed the editorial, production and marketing departments to ensure the timely completion of books, Web sites and ancillary marketing materials such as catalogs, postcards and flyers. She was also a Freelance Editor and Writer and Program Administrator at New York University's Summer Publishing Institute. Au Levitt holds an MPH in Community Public Health from New York University and an AB in History from Princeton University.
Courtney Conroy has rejoined Rodale as Editor, Rodale Books. In this role, she will be responsible for acquiring, editing and fully managing the development of non-fiction prescriptive books primarily in the areas of health, fitness, nutrition, lifestyle, and wellness. She will oversee the Men's Health branded titles and will work with Runner's World, Best Life and Bicycling to help develop branded book titles. Conroy was previously the Associate Developmental Editor at Random House Inc., Potter Craft, where she developed and edited illustrated how-to books from contract execution through finished book publication. She holds a BA in History from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Julie Will Promoted to Senior Editor, Rodale Books
Julie Will, who joined Rodale over one year ago, has been promoted to Senior Editor. Will is responsible for several best-selling titles, including the Biggest Loser franchise and will also now be the editor for The Intellectual Devotional series. Her list of authors also includes Tony Gonzales, Jeff Corwin, Mimi Spencer, and Debby Herbenick. Prior to her tenure at Rodale, Will was an Associate Editor at Bantam Dell.
