QuickPlay Media Enjoys Worldwide Success in 2008

Business Wire, July 8, 2008

Company Adds Customers & Expands Relationships with Key Partners to Extend Leadership in Media Management & Distribution for Mobile TV and Video Services

TORONTO -- QuickPlay Media, the leader in mobile TV and video solutions, today announced that it has achieved significant success through the first half of 2008 on the strength of its OpenVideo[TM] platform. OpenVideo is the industry's only media management platform that makes it easy and efficient for mobile operators and media companies to centrally manage and distribute video and audio content and advertising that is optimized for a wide variety of devices, networks and services. Key accomplishments over the first half of 2008 include the development and expansion of key customer and partner relationships in North America and Europe, and recognition as a Red Herring 100 North America 2008 award winner.

Following a successful 2007 in which QuickPlay announcement highlights included powering streaming video for Alltel Wireless' award winning Celltop service and Virgin Mobile Canada's Virgin Live video and audio streaming service, QuickPlay is now powering:

* Premium off-deck video download services for AT&T subscribers, including content from FUNamation. Off-deck services are available to all AT&T wireless subscribers with video enabled devices, including the iPhone, on a pay-per-download basis.

* Full-length HBO episodes and premium content from the NBA, MTV and ESPN for Bell Mobility's fully integrated TV, video and radio service. QuickPlay provides subscribers with the ability to easily discover, personalize and enjoy mobile media content with pause and resume capabilities and advanced Web 2.0 features.

Additionally, QuickPlay has established a strategic partnership with Amobee Media Systems, a worldwide leader in advertising solutions for mobile. The partnership gives mobile operators a pre-integrated solution to grow mobile video and advertising revenue with ad-supported mobile video services. The solution's first implementation was Vodafone Italy's FreeVideo service, which was announced in January and gave Vodafone Italy 3G users free access to a wide range of high-quality, local and branded video content.

The Company also continued to expand and develop its strategic relationships with a number of major companies including its premier partnership with Research In Motion (RIM) and its relationship with XM Radio Mobile. In April, QuickPlay announced it is powering the delivery of the first universally available XM Radio Mobile Service for BlackBerry[R] smartphones. The service is currently available across major U.S. mobile service provider networks and enables consumers to get 20 exclusive XM channels of commercial-free music and 24-hour comedy programming. To cap off a successful 2008, the company was also named to the Red Herring 100 North America for its up-and-comer status and potential to disrupt the mobile marketplace.

"2008 has been an unbelievable year for QuickPlay Media so far. Our work to enable high quality, seamless video and audio services for premier brands such as AT&T, Vodafone, RIM and XM Radio Mobile has helped to secure our status as a global leader in media management solutions for mobile TV and video services," said Wayne Purboo, president and CEO, QuickPlay Media. "Complementing those relationships is our partnership with Amobee Media Systems, which helps set the stage for mobile content and service providers to reap the benefits of this exciting new business model. As we look toward the second half of the year, we will build on this momentum with enhancements to our already advanced OpenVideo platform."

QuickPlay's OpenVideo platform powers mobile video services for 13 major mobile operators in North America and Europe, providing both live and on-demand content from more than 150 different media companies. Key features of the QuickPlay media management platform include a superior content management and distribution system, advanced reporting and analytics to manage mediation and settlement and open APIs for ease of partner integration.
