Jeffery Gruen Joins PRTM Management Consultants' Healthcare Practice

Former Chief Medical Officer at Revolution Health Group Brings Expertise to Global Operational Strategy Firm
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Jeffery Gruen, a senior healthcare industry executive and former division President and Chief Medical Officer of Revolution Health Group LLC, has joined PRTM Management Consultants as a director and co-head in the global operational strategy firm's Healthcare Practice. Dr. Gruen's distinguished 25-year career includes senior healthcare services and technology positions including managed care, care management, and health portal companies.
At Revolution Health, Dr. Gruen ran a key division and later oversaw all clinical operations, playing a major role in building portal traffic to more than 15 million unique monthly visitors and 260 million monthly page views just nine months after launch. At Revolution Health, an online consumer health site dedicated to transforming how people approach their overall health and wellness, Dr. Gruen reported to the CEO, Steve Case, who also co-founded America Online Inc.
Prior to joining Revolution Health, Dr. Gruen served as National Medical Executive at Optum, UnitedHealth Group. He was responsible for helping devise the strategic vision to reposition Optum, UnitedHealth Group as a consumer-empowered integrated service provider for the 23 million members it touches.
A successful serial entrepreneur, Dr. Gruen founded HealthCentrix Inc., a healthcare management strategy consulting firm specializing in assisting innovative e-health and traditional services and technology companies achieve business objectives. He also co-founded MSO-US Inc., a physician practice management company with a unique model for developing infrastructure to assist providers in managing global risk contracts. MSO-US was successfully sold to a Goldman Sachs-backed company.
Previously, Dr. Gruen held staff positions at the Yale New Haven Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital academic medical centers and a teaching position at Harvard Medical School.

In 2007, he also served as a featured speaker at the American Academy of Family Physicians Scientific Assembly, Special Executive Session.
Dr. Gruen delivered the prestigious Gibbs Oration at The George Washington University School of Public Health in October 2007. He serves on the eHealth Initiative leadership council and is a member of the board of directors for both the American Academy of Family Physicians' TransforMED and the Disease Management Association of America. He is a former board member of RediClinic LLC.
Dr. Gruen holds a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University, where he also received his MD in the honors program. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Dr. Gruen served his pediatric internship and residency at Yale University and conducted independent study at the University of Oxford and genomics research at the University of Chicago.
