Aveksa Named "Cool Emerging Vendor" by CRN

Business Wire,  July 9, 2008

Access Governance Leader Recognized for Innovative, Cutting-Edge Technology Backed Up By Channel Program that Delivers High Margins and Support

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Aveksa Inc. (www.aveksa.com), the market-leading provider of enterprise access governance solutions today announced it has been selected by Everything Channel as a CRN Emerging Tech vendor for its Aveksa Access Governance Platform. Aveksa was also named to CRN's "25 Coolest Emerging Vendors," which the publication selected from the 178 companies included in its 2008 Emerging Tech Vendors report. CRN's Emerging Tech list captures companies that are delivering high margins for solution providers with innovative and easy-to-use technology that undercuts industry giants.

Aveksa was chosen by CRN based on the innovation and strong channel momentum of its Aveksa Enterprise Governance Platform, the industry's first comprehensive solution for identity and access governance, risk and compliance. Aveksa automates the monitoring, reporting, certification and remediation of user entitlements and roles for information assets across the enterprise; enables role discovery and role lifecycle management; and provides visibility into who has access to what; how they got that access; whether they should have access; and whether compliance objectives are being met. With Aveksa, organizations can more efficiently address security and regulatory demands through a collaborative process that automates manual tasks, enforces accountability, provides evidence of compliance and reduces risk.

Aveksa has built a thriving alliance program that enables solutions providers to offer its technology as part of their advisory services in the areas of identity management, controls and compliance consulting. Aveksa has partnered with many of the world's top systems integration and consulting organizations to collaboratively address diverse access risk and compliance needs for customers across a broad range of industries.

Vendors who make the CRN Emerging Tech list must have an established solution provider program and formal guidelines for recruiting channel partners. They must demonstrate that its direct sales mix is trending down as evidenced by the company's revenue history, a channel positive or channel neutral strategy for internal sales compensation, and not be a dominant market share player. Final selection to the Emerging Technology list was made at the discretion of the CRN editorial team after a review of the submitted information and conversations with current or targeted partners.

"New and innovative vendor partners can help spur profitable new ideas that Solution Providers can use to build revenue and customer loyalty, and the CRN Emerging Tech list is where Solution Providers go to find these vendors," said Robert C. Demarzo, senior vice president and editorial director, Everything Channel editorial.

According to the CRN Emerging Tech Survey, the top reasons solution providers add emerging technologies include, the technology is superior to other products in the market segment; the technology compliments a solution providers' existing practice areas; emerging vendors provide better services opportunities; emerging vendors pay better attention to partners; emerging vendors offer higher margins, customers want alternative product choices; and emerging vendors have better joint marketing programs. In addition, 61 percent of solutions providers surveyed plan to increase the number of emerging technology vendors they partner with in the next 12 months.

"Aveksa is honored to be named one of CRN's 25 Coolest Vendors," said Brian Cleary, vice president of marketing for Aveksa. "This recognition validates the innovation that Aveksa is delivering with our enterprise access governance solutions, as well as for the strength and momentum of our alliance program. We are committed to providing the market's best technology to help organizations achieve sustainable access compliance and reduce their access-related risks."

This recognition by CRN is the latest in a growing list of accolades amassed by Aveksa this year. The company was also recently named a "Hot Company to Watch in 2008" by Forrester Research, a Laureate by the Computerworld Honors Program, a Red Herring 100 North America Award winner and Northeast 100 Top Private Company Award winner by AlwaysOn.
