Boston Area Non Profits Partner with SilverSword

Business Wire, June 10, 2008

NEWTON CENTER, Mass. -- SilverSword, LLC of Newton Center, Massachusetts announces they will be managing the Carl and Ruth Shapiro Family Foundation's network. The Foundation was established in 1961 and supports arts and culture, health and hospitals, education, social welfare and Jewish causes in Greater Boston and Palm Beach County, FL.

The Shapiro Foundation is just one of several non profit organizations that have partnered with SilverSword. The company also works with Project Hope, Arts Boston and Mount Saint Mary's Abbey to name a few. Project Hope is a non-profit agency located in Boston whose mission is to move families beyond poverty and homelessness. The group has provided low income women and children with access to housing, education, jobs and emergency services since 1981. "Overall, I've found SilverSword to be extremely reliable and responsive to our needs as a not-for-profit organization. They offer high-quality support and stay on top of our demands to address potential hazards before we have urgent issues. I would highly recommend SilverSword to any organization in need of IT support," says Kelli Sperfslage, Human Resource Manger for Project Hope.

ArtsBoston was founded in 1975 by The Boston League of Theatres. The organization promotes the arts in the Greater Boston area by helping performing arts organizations market performances, build organizations capacity and grow their audiences. They also provide discount ticketing programs and serve as a collective voice for the arts. Since their inception, the company has brought approximately 3.2 million people to the arts and have returned over $42 million to the Greater Boston's arts community. John Beck, Director of Operations, says "As a relatively small not-for-profit organization, ArtsBoston cannot afford to have an internal IT staff, but having SilverSword on our team is just like having our own IT department. SilverSword has enabled ArtsBoston to take giant leaps forward with our technology infrastructure and grow our business in a way we would not have been able to do otherwise. With SilverSword we have piece of mind that our server set up will be stable, our data will be secure, and our day to day operations will run smoothly."

SilverSword also works with Mount Saint Mary's Abbey (MSMA). The Abbey consists of approximately 50 Cistercian nuns who are part of the international Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance. Sister Pamela Clinton, Business Office Manager and member of the Finance, Building and Fundraising Committees says, "We are very comfortable working with SilverSword. They always keep our best interest in mind and our computers and network function beautifully."
