Mobile Advertising Enabler Debuts as Interactive Marketing Solution for Hollywood Fashion Magazine, Salon City
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Broadcaster Media, the pioneer in creating mobile marketing solutions enabling brands to rapidly create and deliver interactive content, today announced the U.S. launch of its innovative, mobile advertising platform. Originally based in Australia, the company will kick off its American launch by being tapped as the mobile advertising solution for Salon City, a premier beauty, fashion, and lifestyle magazine with a Hollywood spin. Salon City's advertisers will be empowered with Studio[R], an application built from Broadcaster Media's revolutionary SMARTS[R] platform, which allows for fast creation and distribution of media-rich, context specific ads to targeted mobile phone users. Texting 'SALON' to 650-224-0053 will connect on-the-go consumers to Salon City's graphic-rich mobile website.

"We're extremely excited about this customer win," said Mike Loftus, newly appointed CEO of Broadcaster Media. "Launching with Salon City will demonstrate how Broadcaster Media closes marketing's last mile, connecting brands with consumers through their most personal device - their mobile phones. Studio is just one of our dynamic applications that will allow advertisers to create content that is both relevant and entertaining, enriching the end-user experience and encouraging them to engage in a one-on-one dialogue with the brand."
Steve Casciola, CEO of Salon City, agrees. "Our advertisers are always looking for exciting ways to interact with consumers and mobile advertising is the new frontier," he said. "What better way to reach them than on the one device no one can leave home without? Studio will allow our advertisers to reach consumers when and where they want, with interactive promotions that are based solely on their expressed interests."
Broadcaster Media's easy implementation, hosted web service, and carrier-independent platform mean Salon City's advertisers are now free to build their own mobile marketing campaign in hours instead of weeks. The interactive content they'll be able to offer their customers includes color images and graphics, wallpapers, coupons, embedded video, "push-to-call" and phone-based email. End users have the unique choice of interacting with the content either in real-time via a WAP site or a download to their mobile handsets. A "double opt-in" feature ensures they only receive information they are interested in.
"But this is only the beginning," said Loftus. "The SMARTS platform is the foundation for a product family that will let brands extend their reach into consumers' social networks, interacting with their target audiences at deeper, unprecedented levels. Stay tuned."
Loftus has more than 20 years of experience leading startups and is no stranger to the mobile advertising space. Prior to heading Broadcaster Media, he was part of the team that prepared and launched Say Hello in Jacksonville, Fla. Like his previous firm, inFreeDA, the company provided free 411 service for mobile phones, an advertiser-sponsored system that's transformed today's directory assistance, offering a carrier-grade, zero-cost alternative to mobile consumers.
Headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., Broadcaster Media maintains its development office in Brisbane, Australia, where the company was spun-off from Absolute Data Group, an IT tools development firm.
