IDT Search Accelerator Chosen for Its Leading Support of Enhanced Data Protection and Large Database Searching
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- IDT([R])(Integrated Device Technology, Inc.)(NASDAQ:IDTI), a leading provider of essential mixed signal semiconductor solutions that enrich the digital media experience, today announced its application-optimized search accelerator was selected by Fujitsu as the packet header processing solution of choice for its next generation packet optical networking platform. The IDT search accelerator provides Fujitsu with the higher bandwidth and network intelligence needed to realize the next generation digital media experience across networks, all while delivering the industry's combined highest performance and lowest power per entry searched. Also included in the device is an IDT-proprietary error correction code (ECC) solution to ensure the highest possible data integrity while providing the industry's most reliable search acceleration solution available.
The search accelerator delivers high performance in its simultaneous comparison of complex, multi-field IPv4 and IPv6 rule sets. These capabilities enable the Fujitsu optical networking application to support large table searches with low power, cost-effective packet header processing. The IDT search accelerator delivers a search performance of one billion searches per second enabling customers to solve complex network challenges such as quad-play ready network applications, increasing security and access control, and support of broader address spaces, while still maintaining high availability bandwidth for both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic. The combination of the search accelerator's performance, density and advanced services enable Fujitsu to effectively address its aggregation and transport needs created by emerging high-bandwidth, high-quality services, such as on-demand high definition television, multimedia Internet experiences, and interactive enterprise collaboration.
"Our search accelerator solution is a faster, smarter and more efficient search engine. We continually strive to extend our lead in the packet processing space, and we continue to develop search solutions that allow customers, like Fujitsu, to focus their development efforts on efficiently building highly reliable and differentiated features on top of this platform and ultimately, to win in their markets," said Derek Dicker, co-general manager for the IDT IP co-processor division. "The IDT search accelerator is not only the fastest and most reliable search solution available today, but it is a low-power solution optimized for IPv6-enabled, triple play networks."
About IDT Search Accelerators
The IDT search accelerator assists packet header processing with industry leading performance and service capabilities at wire speed in core, metro and access networks. The IDT search accelerators process complex IPv6 policy lookups at 40 Gbps throughput and beyond, enabling next-generation networking equipment to work faster, smarter and more efficiently. The search accelerator implements enhanced error detection and correction to ensure the data integrity of the integrated TCAM array while providing the most reliable search solution in the market. In addition, the search accelerator is also supported by a comprehensive suite of development tools that facilitate easy programming and early testing, reducing cost, speeding time-to-market, and ultimately protecting the end-user software investment.
