TransPerfect, the World's Largest Privately-Owned Translation Company, Has Been Awarded EN 15038:2006 Certification
NEW YORK & LONDON -- TransPerfect Translations, the world's largest privately-held translation services provider, today announced that it has received EN 15038:2006 certification. Established by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) in 2006, EN 15038 accreditation provides both translation service providers (TSPs) and their clients with clear criteria for quality.
To achieve this certification, TransPerfect was audited by TUV SUD, an internationally recognized, independent certifying organization. In conducting the assessment, TUV SUD evaluated TransPerfect production centers in New York and London on a range of factors, including linguist and personnel qualifications, technical resources, TSP-client communication procedures, and quality management. TransPerfect's quality management system is also certified to ISO 9001:2000, a rigorous international quality assurance standard that can apply to all types of businesses.
TransPerfect CEO Liz Elting notes, "We are very honored to have been awarded this certification. It not only distinguishes us in the language services arena, it reinforces the strength and reliability of the client service and quality control measures that help to define our company. As more language companies certify to 15038, clients will have a more expansive set of criteria for distinguishing among vendors. This achievement marks a major step forward for the industry."
With over 50 locations on 4 continents and projected 2008 revenues of $200 million, TransPerfect is now the largest translation services provider to earn EN 15038:2006 certification.
